Hola Skoko Group are proud to announce the launch of our very own league called “The Junior Soccer League or JSL”.

The JSL is expected to kick off in May 2023 where all will be witness to a football spectacle. The JSL is a football league created for players aged 6 to 17 and will run for 6 consecutive months (May 2023 - October 2023).

Games will be played on Sunday mornings and will run for 6 months at a time. The format is to replicate local football association rules and regulations.

The purpose of this league is to get players playing league matches consistently as we believe the more football played the quicker development will happen. We also would manage each of the games played to ensure players who play in our league receive the best football advice and tools required to excel.

We have SAFA accredited coaches who are more than happy to assist other coaches in the league so football for all can thrive.

We also would be giving medals to players on an ad hoc basis in the league straight after the games for players who are improving and excelling which gives every player the best reason to give everything in their games.

We would also invite and entertain scouts, coaches and academy directors from big academies and clubs in South Africa and let them enjoy the football spectacle and at the time start selecting players they feel have the talent and potential to go to the next level.

Format of the league would work on a home and away basis. The league is competitive from Under 6-17 and winners will receive trophies at the end of the season. We will also be giving trophies for player of the season, goalkeeper of the season and highest goal scorer.

“Winning at all costs” is certainly something that we do not agree with as development goes out the window. Our philosophy is simple “Develop first and winning will come naturally”. Sounds simple but many coaches get it wrong and this is one of the many reasons why our grassroots development structures are so poor in South Africa.

Together we can change this by just changing our mind-set and having patience with the system. Aggressive coaching in the younger divisions can also be detrimental to a player’s football future so we encourage coaches to always be positive with players and give positive criticism and not always shout at the boys and girls.

The aim of this league is for players to play as much football as possible which will expedite their development and we would have a lot more players playing the game out of sheer joy and jubilation.

We believe excitement and football go hand in hand. Little kids want to be challenged through exciting training sessions and hard fought victories in league matches and what better way to inspire these kids then to mimic their favourite stadiums. We have selected the best football stadia in the world and renamed our miniature grounds to create the excitement that football and players deserve.

We have 2 under 6 grounds called “San Siro and “Aztec Arena” as well as 2 7 a side grounds called “Allianz Arena” and “Camp Nou". We have recently just built a 5 a side astro turf court that will be called "Santiago Bernabeu"

If you know your football trivia you would understand how exciting it would be for an 8 year old to be playing a league game at the Camp Nou or Allianz Arena.

We also would be giving medals to players on an ad hoc basis in the league straight after the games for players who are improving and excelling which gives every player the best reason to give everything in their games.

Football has died over the last few years especially after Covid and our intention is to try and revive football in our region. Over the last few tournaments we have seen incredibly talented players and coaches who are so hungry for consistent football - we want to make that happen for you!
